Speaker: Ali Yetkin EGI, Senior Exploration and Wellsite Geologist, SANKO Energy and Production Company

The portable X-Ray Fluorescence (p-XRF) technology, when integrated with geological observations, effectively provides quantitative evidence for lithological boundaries and hydrothermal alteration patterns that enable the determination of structural units for geothermal exploration. Beyond geological characterization, on-site p-XRF analysis optimizes technical operations such as casing point selection and drill bit optimization. Furthermore, by delineating hydrothermal alteration zones, it facilitates a more precise target-drilling alignment, enhancing reservoir connectivity.

In conclusion, the integration of real-time p-XRF data into drilling workflows reduces subsurface uncertainty and supports proactive cost optimization, directly contributing to the overall technical and financial success of the project.

Ali Yetkin EG? an expert in wellsite geology and exploration with 10 years of industrial experience across geothermal and O&G sectors. Holding an M.Sc. in Geodynamics from the Eurasia Institute of Earth Sciences (ITU), his academic work centers on the provenance of pre-Jurassic basement units in the Sakarya Zone. His professional track record includes a decade of managing drilling data and geological evaluations in the roles of Wellsite Geologist and Mudlogger.
