Margün Energy has made significant progress on its growth strategy with the transfer of nine geothermal licensis in Denizli and Manisa in Türkiye.

Margün Enerji Production Industry and Trade Inc. (Margün Enerji), through Bosphorus Renewable Energy Inc., has completed the acquisition of nine geothermal resource licenses located in Denizli and Manisa in Türkiye. With this development, a geothermal portfolio with a total installed power potential of 505 MWe has been fully incorporated into Bosphorus Renewable Energy Inc.

The transfer process started in October 2025, as reported by ThinkGeoEnergy, and was officially concluded on 22 April 2026. Margün Geothermal Energy Production Inc. (Margün Jeotermal Enerji Üretim A.S.) was positioned as the main platform for the investment. In addition to Margün Energy, the company’s ownership structure also includes Naturel Holding and a venture capital fund affiliated with Pardus Portfolio Management Inc.

When fully commissioned, the geothermal power plants in these license areas can produce approximately 3,863,250,000 kWh of gross annual power. Excluding potential additional revenues, a total annual sales revenue of approximately USD 405 million and an EBITDA of approximately USD 324 million are expected from electricity generation alone.

Strategic growth in geothermal energy

This investment is considered a key part of Margün Enerji’s long-term growth strategy in the geothermal energy sector. Türkiye is among the leading countries in the world in terms of installed geothermal power capacity, and these investments in high-potential regions such as Denizli and Manisa are expected to accelerate the scaling up of the sector.
