Register now for IGC Invest Geothermal 2026
Registration is open for IGC Invest Geothermal 2026 in Frankfurt on geothermal project financing. Early bird registration is available until March 15, 2026.
Registration is now open for IGC Invest Geothermal 2026, a conference dedicated to financing deep geothermal energy projects, scheduled for July 17–18, 2026 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Organised by Enerchange in cooperation with ThinkGeoEnergy, the event will focus on investment frameworks, financing structures, and partnership models needed to support geothermal development and the decarbonisation of district heating systems. Early bird registration is available until March 15, 2026.
Growing pressure in global energy markets and rising heating costs have increased attention on long-term solutions for sustainable heat supply. Deep geothermal energy is increasingly considered a key component in this transition, particularly for municipal district heating networks across Europe.
Focus on financing geothermal heat projects
The eighth edition of IGC Invest Geothermal will bring together investors, municipalities, utilities, project developers, banks, and financial specialists involved in geothermal project development.
The conference programme will examine how geothermal projects move from concept to financing and construction, including:
- securing long-term heat offtake agreements
- structuring bankable geothermal projects
- funding mechanisms and government support schemes
- financing models used by municipal utilities
The first day of the conference will focus on the long-term financing of heat demand and project viability, exploring contractual and economic conditions that support geothermal development. Case studies from projects currently in development will also provide insights into challenges and lessons learned.
The day will conclude with an “icebreaker” networking event on the 44th floor in Frankfurt, offering participants the opportunity to connect with project developers, investors, and municipal stakeholders.
Municipal utilities and funding frameworks
The second day will start with a dedicated forum on financing deep geothermal projects by municipal utilities, presenting practical examples from the public sector.
Another session will examine current funding programmes and regulatory frameworks supporting geothermal investment across Europe.
With its focus on financing structures and project case studies, IGC Invest Geothermal has become one of the key European platforms for discussion on geothermal project finance.
The conference will be simultaneously translated from German to English, allowing participation from an international audience.
Early bird registration for IGC Invest Geothermal 2026 is available until March 15, 2026 via the conference website.
Enerchange and ThinkGeoEnergy have been organizing this event for the first time in 2017.
