H. Anger’s Söhne has signed a multi-year agreement to provide drilling rig services for the geothermal heating projects of Innargi in Denmark and Germany.

Danish geothermal developer Innargi A/S (Innargi) and H. Anger’s Söhne Bohr- und Brunnenbaugesellschaft mbH (Anger) have announced the signing of a a three-year framework agreement for the provision of drilling rig services for Innargi’s geothermal projects in Denmark and Germany. The agreement covers approximately 20 deep geothermal wells that are planned for utilization in district heating schemes.

The drilling rig, “City Rig 500”, has been developed by Anger in collaboration with rig designer and manufacturer Herrenknecht Vertical. It is one of Europe’s quietest and specifically designed for geothermal wells in urban environments.

“This cooperation allows us to industrialize geothermal energy and thereby provide stable and renewable district heating to consumers in Denmark and Germany. By working with a single supplier across multiple projects, we can also gain important knowledge that can create value and drive down cost even further in future projects,” says Samir Abboud, CEO at Innargi A/S.

The long-term agreement enables H. Anger’s Söhne to strengthen its commitment to geothermal energy. “With this contract, we have the opportunity to plan long-term and work purposefully within geothermal energy with our skilled teams. We look forward to supporting the green transition in both Denmark and Germany and working closely with a company of geothermal experts,” says Uwe Schindler, CEO at Anger.
