Hez Enerji has started full capacity operations of the 24-MW Morali geothermal power plant in the Germencik district in Aydin, Türkiye.

HEZ Enerji has announced that the 24-MW Morali geothermal power plant in the Germencik district in Aydin, Türkiye has started supplying electricity at full capacity. This follows the initial commissioning of 6.667 MW capacity earlier this year.

Requiring a total investment of about USD 100 million, HEZ Enerji emphasized that the project was successfully managed from an environmental and social perspective and completed in collaboration with the local community and local governments. The power plant uses ORC technology supplied by Exergy.

HEZ Enerji’s licensed site in Germencik covers 9,000 hectares and has a total installed capacity of 100 MWe. The company aims to install an additional 76 MWe of capacity on the same site by the end of 2030. In addition, work has started on new geothermal investment areas in Manisa and Denizli.

In a statement, the company thanked the Aydin Governorship, relevant ministries, local governments, the Industrial and Development Bank of Türkiye, and the World Bank for their support of the project.
