DrillHeat reports the completion of its 100th shallow geothermal installation in France, highlighting the steady growth of the shallow geothermal market.

With the installation of 24 vertical geothermal probes for biotechnology company Greentech in Clermont-Ferrand, DrillHeat has successfully delivered its 100th shallow geothermal project. The achievement highlights the company’s leadership position in France’s steadily growing shallow geothermal market.

Founded in 2022, DrillHeat is the subsidiary of Arverne that specializes in shallow geothermal drilling. The company has so far drilled 130,000 meters of drilling enabled by the largest fleet of surface geothermal drilling workshops in France.  The company deploys installations in a variety of configurations and has successfully met numerous needs for nursing homes, hypermarkets, museums, industries, local authorities, swimming pools, offices, and more.

Many companies have worked with DrillHeat, including Eiffage, E.Leclerc, Galeries Lafayette, Icade, Idec, and Sisley. These projects encompass the decarbonization of both existing facilities and new buildings, including underground parking garages, rural areas, business parks, and city centers.

At the Greentech site, DrillHeat installed 24 vertical geothermal probes, each at 200 meters depth. A total of 1200 meters were drilled from 6 boreholes in just 4 days. When completed, the geothermal system, will supply the site with local, continuous, and decarbonized heat for its industrial processes.

“ Geothermal energy has emerged as the most relevant solution for our future site: a local, reliable energy source that is fully consistent with our environmental commitments,” said Jean-Yves Berthon, President of Greentech.

“In DrillHeat, we have found a responsive and committed partner, capable of understanding our industrial constraints and rapidly deploying a high-performance installation. This collaboration reinforces our choice and represents an important step towards a more autonomous and sustainable energy model. ”
